Abstract text
Abstract:
Objectives:
To provide Co-ordinating and Managing Editors of review Groups with an overview of the common statistical errors in reviews, what to look for and how to spot them.

Description:
The workshop will be a mixture of taught content and discussion with the audience. We intend to describe some of the common statistical errors found in Cochrane reviews, and to describe appropriate and inappropriate analyses. We cannot cover every aspect in one workshop, so we will also describe good sources of further information. The discussion part of the workshop will cover how much statistics Managing Editors and Co-ordinating Editors can be expected to know, and how often a statistician should be consulted. We will also cover how much statistical experience is necessary in a review author team, and whether some reviews need more statistical expertise than others.
