Abstract text
Abstract:
Objectives:

To discuss the steps and considerations involved in establishing a Cochrane Review Group Satellite.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Discuss potential roles and responsibilities of a satellite editorial base;
2. Discuss the impact of satellites on addressing priority questions of interest to specific countries/regions and increasing capacity through review author support and training;
3. Identify and access document templates currently in use by established review groups with satellites (e.g., complementary roles document, review group meeting agenda, work plans, communications strategy flowcharts).

Description:
Satellite review groups are established to assist with identifying, preparing, and maintaining systematic reviews of priority topics of interest to specific countries or regions. Satellites also play a major role in increasing capacity through review author training and support activities. This workshop will include brief presentations on topics such as recruitment efforts, logistics, funding, timeline, complementary versus overlapping roles, identifying country or region-specific review priorities, avoiding duplication of effort, and experiences of existing review group satellites. Discussion will follow. Facilitators of the workshop will include active contributors to review groups with satellites.
