Description
Description:
One of The Cochrane Collaboration's legal obligations as a registered charity is to hold a formal meeting of its members once a year (an 'Annual General Meeting', or AGM). The 92 Cochrane entities are the 'members' of the Collaboration, and one person from each entity is expected to participate in the AGM if attending the Colloquium. Other participants are most warmly encouraged to come along to this meeting.

The following background documents for the AGM were circulated to entity representatives on 26 September 2011:

- AGM agenda, Madrid, 2011, and draft AGM minutes, Keystone, 2010.
- Report and Financial Statements of The Cochrane Collaboration and Collaboration Trading Company, April 2010 to March 2011.

This year, the focus will be on the following areas:

1)The financial and legal business will be addressed, including a presentation by Nick Royle, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Collaboration.

2) Jeremy Grimshaw, Co-Chair of the Steering Group, will set out the Steering Group’s vision for the Collaboration over the coming year and beyond. David Tovey, Editor in Chief (EiC), will also present his vision for The Cochrane Library.

3) There will be a Question and Answer session to give everyone the opportunity to ask the Steering Group, CEO, or EiC questions about the organisation of the Collaboration, The Cochrane Library, and future plans for both. Questions will be collected in advance, and Lucie Jones will be writing to you separately about this.
