Objectives:
All Cochrane diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) reviews are peer reviewed at protocol and review stage by methodologists, organised through the Cochrane DTA Reviews Editorial office. The search methods section and at least one electronic database search strategy are peer reviewed by an information specialist. This workshop will help participants develop a number of skills relating to both effective critiquing of the content and structure of a strategy, and to wording comments on the strategy in a clear, helpful and encouraging manner.

Description:
During the workshop participants will work in pairs to:
• Critique a DTA search strategy using the PRESS framework
• Develop major and minor comments for the review authors, and for the DTA Editorial unit
Participants will gain skills in:
• Reading a protocol to inform their understanding of the review question and the proposed search strategy
• Working through a strategy to:
o gain an understanding of how the author has structured the strategy
o see if there are areas where improvements should / could be made
o see if there are alternative approaches to strategy structure that review authors could consider
• Wording comments so that they are unambiguous, helpful and encouraging
